Hi, I’m Kristy!
Since early childhood I’ve loved art. When everyone else wanted to play softball, all I wanted to do was color. And I’m glad I did because I’m still coloring. Every. Single. Day.
My passion for art was nurtured and enhanced from an early age. From summer art classes taught at Troy State University by Pat Duke to my awesome high school art teacher, Pam Smith, I had several art influences that made a huge difference in my life. Naturally I majored in art in college at Auburn University during freshmen orientation and never changed course. I received my BFA there and also had the opportunity to study fine art abroad at the Chelsea School of Art and Design and Central St. Martins School of Art and Design in London, England.
After graduation, I followed my wanderlust and moved to the “big city” of Nashville, TN where I worked as a Jr. Graphic Designer, Graphic Designer and Art Director with small and large advertising firms. And then…shockingly… I decided to move back to Alabama to my small hometown to settle down and put down roots. Remarkably, it has been the greatest adventure yet!
Each step in life has purpose. Each location has meaning. Each moment has significance. I am thankful for all. For, without each, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I’m a firm believer that you must leave a place in order to full appreciate the true significance. Full circle.
My prayer is that the Holy Spirit enables me to will and to do everything for God’s glory. And that translates into every aspect of life, including my appreciation and abilities in artistic endeavors. TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE. SO LOVED HE THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE US HIS SON.
